Your PC and BlackBerry must be WiFi enabled if you want to use Elertify over WiFi.
Both devices must be connected to the same Wireless Access Point - BlackBerry does not support Ad Hoc Networks.
To use a WiFi connection you will need to enter the IP address and port of your PC into Elertify on the BlackBerry.
To find your IP address and Port open Elertify on Windows and select the Wifi Setup option from the menu.
Select the WiFi Setup menu option in Elertify on the BlackBerry and enter the IP Address and Port number.
The IP and port must match what you see in the Elertify Wifi Setup on the PC.
You can use a password when connecting over WiFi for added security or you can leave it blank.
Click the "Start" button in Elertify on the BlackBerry to connect to the PC with Elertify.
Elertify must be running in the system tray of the Windows machine you want to connect to.
If you have "Auto Connect" checked Elertify will try to connect to the PC whenever the BlackBerry connects to a Wifi HotSpot.
We recommend setting up a static IP address on your PC so that your IP address won't change over time.
If you're going to use Elertify for extended periods over WiFi you may want to plug the BlackBerry into a charger to maintain the battery.
If you have Windows Firewall running, it may try to block Elertify. To unblock Elertify go to the Windows Security Panel, select the Windows Firewall, and set it to allow connections to Elertify.
Other firewall software may block Elertify as well. You will need to configure your firewall software to allow connections to Elertify.
If you have trouble connecting over WiFi, use the WiFi Tools in the BlackBerry Options to see if you can "Ping" the PC using the IP address. If you are unable to Ping the PC you may have a problem with your network configuration. Make sure you are actually connecting to your own WiFi network and not your neighbors! Use a unique SSID for your WLAN and not a generic one like "Linksys". Both the PC and the BlackBerry must be on the same network. We recommend setting up a static IP Address on the PC. You may also need to disable "AP Isolation" from your router configuration screen so that the BlackBerry can communicate with the PC. If the PC is connected via WiFi, try using an ethernet cable with the PC instead of WiFi to isolate the problem.
